About the Whispering Oaks Honey Family
At Whispering Oaks Honey, we’re more than just beekeepers—we’re a husband-and-wife team, who together with our four children operate a small, family-run apiary in the heart of Milam County, Texas. Our bees forage among native wildflowers and flowering trees, and the honey they produce reflects the beauty and diversity of the land we call home. We are proud to carry a legacy that stretches deep into Texas soil. Ours is a family of seventh and eighth-generation Texans, with family roots stretching across the vast and storied landscapes of this state. From American pioneers who fought at the Alamo and San Jacinto, Cheraw ancestors who journeyed to Texas by way of the Trail of Tears, loggers and farmers who worked the vast forests of the Big Thicket, to early German settlers who helped shape the Hill Country—our heritage is as rich and diverse as the honey our bees produce.
Our family has been keeping bees in Texas for well over 150 years. Beekeeping isn’t just a business for us—it’s mornings in the pasture, evenings bottling by hand, and seasons marked not by the calendar but by what’s blooming in the fields.
Our Way of Life
We love Texas, we cherish freedom, and we believe in the rural Texan way of life—love of God and country, honest work, open skies, and time spent close to the land. Our bees are not just livestock—they’re partners in something beautiful and essential. Honeybees pollinate our pastures, wildflowers, trees, and remind us of God's daily quiet miracles in nature.
Whether you’re drawn to the story, the flavor, or the values behind what we do, we’re glad you’re here. When you open a jar of Whispering Oaks Honey, you’re tasting more than just honey—you’re tasting heritage.
